- This presentation covers a new emerging disease in the eastern corn belt. Specific topics include:
i. Disease symptoms
ii. Disease identification
iii. Similar diseases
iv. Chemical options for control and suppression such as in-furrow rates and seed treatments.
- Seed Applied Technologies – 15 minutes
- This presentation will cover options for seed treatments and the diseases and insects they protect the seed against.
- Understanding Fungicide Modes of Action – 30 minutes
- This presentation will cover what makes one fungicide different from another
i. Modes of action
ii. Efficacy results
iii. Percent control and suppression of main leaf diseases in the northeast.
iv. Control comparison using various fungicides
v. Disease spectrum controlled by fungicides
vi. Fungicide application rates.

11:15 AM: Resistance Weed Management and IPM
Matt Pinckney from Syngenta
1) Resistant weeds and what steps can be taken to improve herbicide performance.
2) Weed Identification, discussion about the impact of weed pressure on yield and which herbicides can be used to target the weeds that are present.
3) Discussion about Marestail, Tall Water hemp.
